minimal...
The main purpose of GPSimply is to tell you in which direction is your next destination ("Bearing"),
and how far it is ("Distance"). It handles just one destination at a time, selectable
from a set that you will have previously defined; therefore we use the words "next
destination", "target", "waypoint" in an interchangeable way.
There are only three screens (in addition to the splash screen): the main screen depicted above
(see it with legenda in the small manual), the current waypoint screen
and the waypoint selection screen.
The Bearing is shown in graphic form (in addition to the textual form); it is the small red arrow
inside the circle; if it appears on the right half of the circle, steer right, and viceversa;
the other small red arrow, external to the circle, is fixed on the top of the screen and indicates
your current direction ("Course"): if the two arrows are aligned you are going in the
direction of your target. A similar info is given, at greater drawing scale, by the Off-Course
Indicator a the center of the "Compass".
Usage of a plastic stylus is reccomended for best control.
I have succesully tested GPSimply on my Mio C710, which is
equipped with Windows CE NET 4.2 and an ARM920 processor.
Users reported successful installation and test also on Mio C510 and on Mio C310.
Installation requires unlocking
the navigator (same procedure and tools as for Mio 310 and 510,
see http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=61233).
I think that GPSimply should installable on other similar machine manufactured by
Mio-Tech and perhaps some others.
